We’ve heard many things when it comes to first impressions:

They can form in just 1/10 of a second but may be long lasting.  Most of our communication is non-verbal.  It’s better to be early that late.  Always dress slightly better than the occasion warrants.

The arrival of the first dish is key to setting the tone for the rest of the meal.  The humblest of foods can be elevated by being presented on a functional piece of art – your art!

Speaking of art - even if you’re timid - this workshop may be the appetizer dish of your journey into clay, leaving you with a great first impression of your capabilities.

Let this amazing 3-hour workshop take care of the details - just bring an apron and your inspiration!

  • All skill-levels are welcome.
  • No experience needed just an open mind to the possibilities with clay.
  • Learn specialized and traditional pottery techniques, along with handy tips/tricks-of-the-trade.
  • Each participant can make up to 7 pieces; a few large, medium and small.

The class will begin with exploring various hand-building pottery methods followed by a demonstration with the focus being on appetizer/ tapas and charcuterie types of serve-ware. There will be some completed work around the studio for reference and/or inspiration.

This course includes:

  • All demonstration and high-level instruction.
  • Clay, prepared slips, and underglazes.
  • Ceramics templates and moulds.
  • Wide selection of professional equipment and tools.
  • Glazing.

(Please Note: this is a single-day creation workshop with clay only!).

All completed projects will be microwave and dishwasher friendly!

After completion your ceramics will be carefully slow dried, bisque-fired and glazed by Kiln 9 Ceramics with our house signature Local Apple Orchard Ash White Glaze.

This may take up to 3-4 weeks.

Once the ceramics are completely glaze-fired you will be notified when your pottery is ready to be picked up.
